A Transfer of Responsibility (TOR) is required when you have an active cellular line under Rogers, under a different name than the intended Account Owner.
In this scenario, the existing account owner is required to give up the number to the new owner in a process called transfer of responsibility (TOR).
Transfer of Responsibility Scenarios
Scenario 1: Corporately owned on Rogers, move to personal
Since these are existing accounts on the Rogers network under the corporate Rogers account, they will need to be transfered to personal liability. Device balance will need to be paid off and a new personal account needs to be created under the employees personal credentials. Since the lines are active on the network, this is NOT a new activation. A one time $50 TOR fee may apply.
Customer will have 2 options:
Option 1: Employee will be getting a new phone with new plan
- Company must email Business Care to initiate the release of the telephone number (mark down the interaction number)
- Employee can reach out to Fraser Valley Wireless for new plan & device quotes before placing an order with FVW online.
- FVW will create employees new Rogers account, transfer the line and complete the upgrade.
Option 2: Employee only wants to change plan and stay on BYOD
- Company must email Business Care to initiate the release of the telephone number (mark down the interaction number)
- Employee can reach out to FVW for a RPP Discount Passcode
- Since no order is placed, FVW does not have the credit information required to create an account. Customer will need to call Rogers (1-844-776-4377) with the passcode provided to create a new Rogers account and complete the TOR as a Preferred Program Account Type.
Scenario 2: Existing personal accounts with Rogers
If the line in question is an existing Rogers number, it must be under the employees name. If it is not then a transfer of responsibility will be required. The account owner must be the employee who qualifies for the Preferred Program. Similar to Scenario 1, you have 2 options to complete the TOR. A one time $50 TOR fee may apply.
Option 1: Employee will be getting a new phone with new plan
- Individual who owns the cell phone number must call Rogers (1-844-776-4377) to initiate the release of the telephone number (mark down the interaction number)
- Employee can reach out to Fraser Valley Wireless for new plan & device quotes before placing an order with FVW online.
- FVW will create employees new Rogers account, transfer the line and complete the upgrade.
Option 2: Employee only wants to change plan and stay on BYOD
- Individual who owns the cell phone number must call Rogers (1-844-776-4377) to initiate the release of the telephone number (mark down the interaction number). They can pass the phone over to the employee.
- Employee can complete the creation of new Rogers account and complete the TOR as a Preferred Program Account Type.
