A Transfer of Responsibility (TOR) is needed when you have an active cellular line with Rogers under a different name than the intended Account Owner.
In this case, the current account owner needs to transfer the number to the new owner through a process called transfer of responsibility (TOR).
- In this case, the line is an active ROGERS line and NOT considered a new activation. However since it is under a different account owner, it needs to be transferred to your name via a TOR process.
Transfer of Responsibility Scenarios
Scenario 1: Moving from a corporate Rogers account to a personal one
Since these accounts are currently under a corporate Rogers account, they need to be transferred to personal liability. Any device balance must be paid off, and a new personal account created under the employee’s credentials. Because the lines are already active, this is not a new activation. A one-time $80 TOR fee may apply.
The customer has two options:
Option 1: Employee wants a new phone with a new plan
- The company needs to email Business Care to start the release of the phone number (please note the interaction number).
- The employee can contact Fraser Valley Wireless for new plan and device quotes before placing an order online.
- FVW will set up the employee’s new Rogers account, transfer the line, and complete the upgrade.
Option 2: Employee wants to keep their own device and just change the plan
- The company must email Business Care to start the release of the phone number (please note the interaction number).
- The employee can reach out to FVW to get a RPP Discount Passcode.
- Since no order is placed, FVW won’t have the credit info needed to create an account. The customer will need to call Rogers at 1-844-776-4377 with the passcode to create a new Rogers account and complete the TOR as a Preferred Program Account Type.
Scenario 2: Existing personal Rogers accounts
If the line is an existing Rogers number, it should be under the employee’s name. If not, a transfer of responsibility is required. The account owner must be the employee who qualifies for the Preferred Program. Similar to Scenario 1, you have two options to complete the TOR. A one-time $80 TOR fee may apply.
Option 1: Employee wants a new phone with a new plan
- The current owner of the phone number must call Rogers at 1-844-776-4377 to start the release of the number (please note the interaction number).
- The employee can contact Fraser Valley Wireless for new plan and device quotes before placing an order online.
- FVW will create the employee’s new Rogers account, transfer the line, and complete the upgrade.
Option 2: Employee wants to keep their own device and just change the plan
- The current owner must call Rogers at 1-844-776-4377 to start the release of the number (please note the interaction number) and then hand the phone over to the employee.
- The employee can then create a new Rogers account and complete the TOR as a Preferred Program Account Type.
Scenario 3: New customers to Rogers
If the employee doesn’t have any existing Rogers services, we can set up a new account directly on the Preferred Program.
