A Transfer of Responsibility (TOR) is required when you have an active cellular line under Rogers, under a different name than the intended Account Owner.
In this scenario, the existing account owner is required to give up the number to the new owner in a process called transfer of responsibility.
Here are the steps involved in a Transfer of Responsibility:
- Existing Account Owner will need to call into Rogers (1-844-776-4377) and give authorization that the new owner can take over the line. Please take note of the interaction number.
- Once that is completed, the new owner will need to call into Rogers (1-844-776-4377) to complete the TOR. They will need to confirm that they are taking full responsibility for the existing line. The Rogers Rep on the phone will create a new Rogers account number (if required) under the new Owners name and will move the existing line over. There is a one-time fee of $50 (per line) for each TOR.
- If a Rogers Preferred Plan is being migrated to a new account number, the Customer Care rep will ask for an updated Passcode to ensure no discounts fall off.
