Rogers and Tbaytel entered into a strategic business relationship for Northern Ontario. As part of this agreement, Rogers does not sell mobile services to customers in this region.
This means we cannot provide mobile services with an 807 area code and with an address in this region, and this extends to our 5G Home Internet (5GHI) and 5G Business Internet (5GBI) services.
We ask that customers who are looking for wireless services within this area work with Tbaytel directly. Our Customers benefit from a favourable roaming relationship within this area.
If a customer activates a wireless line with an 807 area code or with an address in this area, we will notify them that their account was activated in error, and they will have 30 days to port their number to a provider in their region.
1. Can I bring my wireless phone or 5G home internet product to Tbaytel’s region for the summer?
o Yes, our customers can roam there for several months at a time. Their phone will display as if they are on the Rogers network.
2. What will happen if I activate a line with a 807 cellphone number or an address in this region?
o Rogers does periodic checks of activations and when an account is detected, customers are notified that they have 30 days to port their number to a provider in their region (such as Tbaytel).
