Google is making improvements to ensure the best experience for Pixel 9 users by fine-tuning performance and hardware features.
Google is introducing an Extended Repair Program that offers complimentary repairs or replacements for eligible devices for up to three years from the original purchase date.
This program goes beyond the standard warranty, providing additional coverage for specific issues that may impact device functionality.
What’s Covered
The extended program applies to Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold devices and addresses following failure symptoms:
Device-Specific Coverage
- Pixel 9 Pro
- Vertical line on display
- Screen flicker, lines, or blank screen issues
- Pixel 9 Pro XL
- Vertical line on display
- Pixel 9 Pro Fold extended repair or complimentary replacements for qualifying issues
- Display Issues: Outer display unresponsive, flickering, blank screen; inner display blank
- Power Issues: Device won’t power on or remains stuck on the ‘G’ logo during boot
- Functionality Issues: SIM not detected, battery error icon (‘?’), charging failures (wired or wireless), inability to toggle between cameras
Eligibility
Eligibility requires confirmation of the issue by Google Warranty Support. If the device is not affected by these specific issues, standard warranty terms apply, and representatives should always guide customers through the correct steps to ensure they reach the appropriate support channel.
How Customers Can Claim Warranty
There are two easy ways for customers to start a claim:
- Online: Visit store.google.com/repair, enter the device IMEI, and follow the prompts.
- On Device: Open the My Pixel app → Tap Support → Follow the prompts
