What is the difference between shareable and non shareable data plans
Families with multiple lines on their account on non shareable plans are individually allocated a bucket of high speed data. While every Rogers 5G Mobile plan offers unlimited data, upon using all of your personal plan’s data allotment, your data speeds will be reduced (up to 512kbps).
Shareable plans work in a similar manner with exception to being limited to your total family combined data allotment instead of your individual lines.
What is not shareable
At this time, our RPP rate card consists of independant plans that are non-shareable and treated as individual lines so their data does not contribute to the accounts pool.
Talk and Text plans are not eligible as well since they carry no data and are not enabled for data connectivity.
Customer Wireless Data Usage Notifications
Customers will receive two SMS alerts: one at 90% and another at 100% of their wireless data usage.
You are always able to view your usage on the MyRogers or MyAccount app to track data in real time. These apps make it easy to monitor usage and manage your plan anytime.
Shared Plans to Non Share Plans
On May 12, Rogers Preferred Program (RPP) introduced a non-share rate card – offering better value, more perks and enhanced features for customers. To support hardware upgrade (HUP) and price plan change (PPC) transactions without requiring existing additional lines (AAL) to move off their shared plans, RPP Primary/Single
line shared plans remain available.
However, when migrating a Primary/Single Line from a shared plan to a new non-share plan, all shared additional lines must also switch to the new non-share plans.
Additional details
RPP customers with multiple lines on a shared plan:
- Standalone primary shared line (no additional shared lines), or an additional shared line (AAL):
- If a customer wants to move to in-market pricing and take advantage of the new perks and features, that line must change to a non-share plan.
- If the primary line changes to a non-share plan, all existing shared additional lines must also switch to non-share plans.
- Customers are not required to move their Primary/Single line to an in-market non-share plan. They can stay on their current shared plan or switch to an in-market shared plan. Additional lines can remain on their existing shared plans if the Primary/Single line is on a shared plan.
- Shared data-only lines:
- If the primary line changes to a non-share plan, any shared data-only lines must also switch to a non-share data-only plan.
